World Math Day & Mexican Calendar Celebration
World Math Day March 3, 2010

On March 2, 2010, St. Lucia students hit the World Mathematics
Competition on World Math Day. Students between the ages of 5 and 18
had the opportunity to challenge other students around the world in a
game of mental math. The younger students of International School St.
Lucia chose levels one to five and battled students from over 204
countries. Students had designed their own “avatars” or characters,
and faced as many 60 second games as they could in 24 hours. The
results are tabulated world wide and available for students the
following day. Congratulations to Jonathan Bruce, Rhyan Chastanet,
Taylor Beadle, Claire Daisy Charra, Desiree Defage , Mul Raj Soni,
Nicholas E, James Stevenson who were in the top ten for Correct
Answers, Highest Scores or Most Improved.

Mexican Calendar Celebration!

On February 24, 2010 students at International School St. Lucia
competed in an art competition for the opportunity to have their
artwork included in the lovely calendar produced for the Mexican
Embassy. They were hosted at the embassy, and were given prizes for
their efforts. They enjoyed visiting the embassy. First prize winner
Tal Malka, a grade 7 student is shown with her prize and artwork.
